Didn't get much done, but here's where I'm at. I added the reinforcing tape as per the plans to the wings. I cut the control surfaces free and beveled them. Then I taped them back on as per the plans again, except for the rudder. I double beveled the rudder and used CA hinges. They worked really well.

assembly

I began to glue the pieces together. I used foam safe CA. I usually use hot glue, but I think the CA is lighter. I start with centering the bottom wing and squaring it up with the fuse.

Add the interplane struts. Next glue on the top wing. Now glue in the horizontal stab making sure it square to the fuse and wing. Once it's in you can glue the rudder hinges in.

jpflyer - Is the tape that you are using about 2" thick by any chance and like packing tape? Plane looks great BTW! Thanks

tape

Yep, that sound like the right tape. I got mine from fast-pak.com. Eight rolls, one of each color, shipped for about $21.00. It is really colorful stuff.

equipment

I used an IPS single A drive with a 10x4.7 prop, 2amp esc, and pico servos. My AUW was 5.9 oz. The landing gear is bent from .047 wire with Dubro 1 1/4 foamie wheel and tires.

Aileron servo

I mounted the aileron servo upside down. I used ez connectors and .032 wire to the control horns. This is very light and works very well.

slave struts

The slave struts between the upper and lower ailerons are made from .080 carbon fiber rod with .032 wire z bends on the ends. I use heatshrink tubing to hold it all together and get everything lined up. Then a drop of ca and everything is locked in place. I used 1/32 ply to make the horns for the struts.
