I remember the first time I dared to build to the scale size, I think it was the original Sig Cub kit. (the one with the 72" span, two piece wing) and the plans showed the scale rudder and elevator outlines.
First flight, I was terrified!
Turned out that it flew just like any other model I'd flown. From them on, I went with scale on all my models and never had a problem.

GOLDBERG 1/2a SKYLANE

I remember mine, too. Tee Dee power, Ace kitbuilt 1-ounce receiver, Kraft Sport 5-channel transmitter, Ace kitbuilt servos. I discovered that the wing could not survive successive inside loops at Tee Dee power generated g's. Engine sure unloaded on the way down.

My skylanes didn't have an elevator but after getting the Kraft, and totally destroying the Falcon 56 on the third flight, the kraft went into a Thermic 72 with a hollowed out pod for two channels to give me a sporting chance at learning how to fly.

Oddly enough, the thermic died the same way as yours.
with a td on the scratched out engine pod, it flew great all summer as a thermal catcher then in the fall I looped it. (once).
Radio and engine went into a kit that was like nothing available before....
The Ranger 42!
No building, no covering. just glue it together and fly.
Three ch with an OS pet 09.
Good times.

Sadly, somebody in the US government decided EK's assembly violated US customs laws and put them out of business.

We were flying EK radios until that happened. Then, when we needed the radios fixed, the only repairs were via Full Command Systems, in WA. Sent them a broken radio; got it completely unfixed. So, sent it to Hobby Lobby (who also advertised they fixed EK's)...got it back from Full Command. Put it in an airplane and lost the plane on the first flight.

Both of our radios got sold to folks for boat and car use (legal then). No way I'd trust another plane to them!

Na-300 - control line twin

Nobody else got plans to post? Here's one more by theshadow, just came in. North American NA-300 (prototype of the OV-10 Bronco) I think this one is interesting with a very (very) short wingspan which I guess shows the original STOL design (able to operate from roads as runways) before the Marine Corps slapped a 40ft wing onto it. It's a Walt Musciano plan from Jan 1965 AM.

Thanks Elihah

This is the first time I see a plan and article in Greek, nice to see that Icarus' experience didn't dampen your enthusiasm.

Nice model should be a gentle flier for a Sunday afternoon.

Cheers

Marc

How do you guys go about "cleaning up" a plan? I found a plan I really like on Outerzone called the Georgia Cracker, but a lot of the detail, I cannot read. How do you make it clearer so you can read it?

Looks like this was the best that could be done with the original post. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=8224

as the original scan was at 200dpi. and also RGB. if you download the original scan which is magazine size you may be able to make out more clearly the details you are having a problem with.

Thanks Aeromeddeler, I didn't even think about looking back at the original source. Yes, I can make that one out a lot better even on my netbook. On my big screen I should be able to see it ok. Thanks!
