Does anyone have any plans for the fastest EDF 4-6S 70mm and up to 8S 90mm ? I was looking at funjet style designs but I have no experience with those designs. Are there any known kits that produce the really high speeds?

Erik are there plans for these jets anywhere?

There are only some sketches made for this plane. i made a building thread as well. With 4s/2w20 it has been dopplered at 280kmh. Because this speed will be achieved at only 550W it would only take a brief moment for a scratch builder to put a high power setup in it. Because I feel the airframe as it is designed now is at it's limit at this speed it is very likely it will break on higher power levels. because of this I haven't published the drawings.

Unfortunately, there are no high speed edf jets available to this date. I designed this plane approx 4 years ago because there isn't a better speed jet availabe after the Jepe Pyranhe has been discontinued.

However, if you like the Boulton P111 Delta concept you might have a good option for a high speed scale edf jet project. Have a search over here or have a look at my Fearey Delta1 thread where some vdos and pics are posted on the 1st page. Because the airframe is very slippery and ideal ducting I think this delta wing design could be a winner and even perform as an allround edf jet at low power levels.

Thanks Erik . The Pyranha looks like the HET sniper, or an Evader style EDF which are very fast even stock setup . I am looking for the more extreme setups. I agree that the delta design offers only two leading edges presented to the airflow , and if you do not extend the ailerons to the outer edge even better performance is possible .
There is a contest in Canada in June, originally it was a 4S 70 mm class and unlimited , but this year the 70mm will be allowed 6s.
I was going to design a simple delta, but I am unsure on the size of the main body tube , which might be better than hanging an EDF Nacelle out the top.
Any ideas?

You have been misinformed. The Sniper is a scaled down clone of the BVM Bandit. The Pyranha was the original edf jet concept which dates back to the NiCd's era. Personally the Sniper is one of the slower ducks in the ARF composite range. In fact, I had both at the same time and sole the Sniper after 2 flights. But it is a nice jet for starters.

Ideas? thay are all incorperated in the Uriah-BU. It is of no use the rewrite that thread and my former post.

Has anyone come up with a set of modified intakes for the sniper yet like they did for that yellow aircraft jet?

Space 1 has some good thoughts! I am going to experiment , and my fellow club members are willing to try something new.Bashing about some ideas and something got roughed out of foam !Any Ideas from the EDF foam guys would be helpful. We are going to stay in the 70mm class for competition.

One thing you got to remember is no matter how you build air frame speed comes from EDF AIR IN AIR OUT

I think a EDF thrust tube in the rear with a battery receiver hump in front may be the answer . I have 65/130c 4 s batteries and an ARc 28 48 1 . aprox 2 mins flight time at full throttle.
