Pictures are pretty but no mention of price. Simply put, how much are you asking for the airship? ed

He he! Finally someone questions the irrational pricing, the last airship I know of that went on sale on ebay was a gas powered 36 foot used blimp for 1500 USD$

this price sounds like joke
Poor man - he payed already

I think a normal price for RC blimp (any kind) must be no more than 2000 - 3000 - max.5000 EUR

at the other hand who will maintain 27 q.m. of helium

I can't see a big future for big-volumed blimps

Well a BMW or à 911 (booth cars i did own) only costs you money!
An avertising blimp is a tool that bring you money...

For a toy yes it is very expansive and an old 911 is really cool!

I guess he is selling it because he cannot afford to maintain the blimp.
With the price of helium soaring it is next to impossible, and by no means a viable advertising option any more.
And someone please help me clarify if my pricing is wrong:
Cost of PVC/ polyurethane inflatable 36 foot ready made new 700$ USD
Cost of 3 brushless electric motors 1200 k watt 80$ USD X 3
Cost of 70 amp esc 60$ USD X 3
Cost of high torque servo 60$ USD
Cost of gears & belt 40$USD
Cost of 6 channel transmitter and receiver 70$ USD
Cost of gondola 40$ USD
Cost of lipo 18.5 volt 5000 mah 70$ USD X 2
Cost of composite propellers 20$ USD X 2
Cost of fins 25$ USD X 4
Cost of torque rod 25$ USD
Cost of engine mounts 25$ USD X 2
Cost of prop guards 10$ USD X 2
Ancillaries 100$ USD
Total: Under 1800$ USD
that is aprox 1350 euro brand new,
for argument sake even if you price it at 2000 euro it is still 7000++ more that he is asking for a used blimp with no business potential whatsoever.

You haven't included what is by far the greatest cost in manufacturing an airship - Wages!! Welding the material, building the fins, inserting the hinges into the fins, inserting the servos, all the wiring, building the engine rotation unit, attaching the shrouds, all of this takes a lot of time unfortunately which costs money.

You also haven't included the cost of renting the premises, taxes paid...

Even the chinese can't make them that cheaply, they still charge nearly as much as Minizepp.

Hi there,
I have intentionally omitted wages as you will note that the envelopes come ready made, and considering that I have factored in the production cost of the gondola and fins it should not be an issue,
this is a proper estimate of labor, do correct me if I am wrong.
sealing a 36 foot 9 gore pvc/pu film envelope using rf welding takes 12 man hours or 1 1/2 working days
Making 4 fins with pre cut balsa ribs, carbon rods, depron foam and monokote takes 3 hours X 4 fins= 6 hours or another half working day
Shrouds are a intellectual property secret that involves cutting the tops of buckets (he he!)
Putting together the gondola, rotating unit, wiring, motors and batteries just takes 4 hours ( I'm sure that any rc modeler worth his salt with a decent set of tools will be able to do it in far less time.

The space required to build a 36 foot airship is a comfortable 2 car garage of dimensions 25X20 feet= 500 sq foot area. ( I see no reason to build a hangar the size of the airship as inflation can be done outside) Garage rental runs at around 600$ USD a month for a 2 car garage of around 500 sq ft

And keeping wages at a junior aircraft technician's salary of 40$ USD an hour ( I'm sure you will agree that such qualifications are not required) you still land up with under 1000$ USD as wages.

I still cannot figure out the justification, I wonder what I'm missing in the equation.

Yep powerblimp is minizepp, I've bought blimps from him in the past, and though it was very expensive, his blimps are of really good quality. I can vouch for that.
