Water toys
For handling in the air and on the water and most importantly dryness of the platform you can't beat the Sea Dart. I have flown on the water since 1966 and have 11 water planes including a Polaris, 3 Capricorns, Spruce Goose, 2 Sea Darts and Float Planes. Check out the Sea Dart.

My small one is 19" wingspan and is a direct scaling of the plans. I fly it 3s with an AX 1806N, 2500kv motor and a 4.5 x 3 GWS prop. I dropped the engine inlets and just went with a nice aerodynamic faring around the electronics. A $5 clone receiver and 3 HXT900 servos make for a low cost investment.

Here are some pics. All electronics are in the diamond enclosure; dump the original engine pod design, too much drag. Elevon servos are on their sides and rudder servo is upside down in enclosure. My battery fits snugly in the fuse cutout and is exposed. I seal everything in but the thin wire pushrod exits through the Depron. The top of these planes stay very dry and they are very hard to flip. Rudder is very effective on the water or in the air.

I've not seen the polaris in person, but hear it's good. Aero Model and the AMA is giving one away for free. I think you have to register before the end of the month though. http://www.modelaviation.com/aboutusmodelaero
