RX lock is like model match but better then?
Hope all the alarm etc are model based too cause be almost useless other wise!
tx battery could just be left out and give us a big space to put in whatever we want!

All those features are actually of PXX protocol, rather than radio.
And all older modules and receivers are planned to be upgradeable to PXX. At least this was the initial plan...

Even the V8? Still a little confused on non-tel compatibility. Will stock radio work with them, or will a non-tel module need to be plugged in?

OrangeRx module from HK. First release had some issues but they'll get it sorted out eventually.

I see from the picture of the back that it has a JR style module, but it has an antenna on the top of the radio. So, Will the X9DA have an internal RF and also a place for another module?

CiprianGugu as far as i know, it as both
internal FrSky module,
and then you can use an external one if needed, you select by software which one to use,
internal, module, or maybe both

X9D inherited case unfortunately force the usage of standard 8 cells blocks universal known as transmitter pack, either Ni or Li.
so is it possible to run 12/16 on a 3s lipo aswell ? Some UHF Systems require 12v so that would definately be a dealbreaker for me as i am not sticking an extra battery on my radio to power the UHF.

If not, you could run the Tx off a 6v BEC from the 12 V battery.
