Every radio owner can look at and post pictures of his radio board, does it means the schematic is obvious ?

Igor, sorry I can't give you a clue about mechanics quality, because I am dealing with electronics only in this project. I know it sounds strange to not have the whole radio in hand, you will understand more in some days when I will start a separate thread about a new and exciting project

"schematic" isn't the end-all, be-all of "confidential information".

And what do you mean "owner"?

did I miss something? was it released when I blinked? Or are you referring to a sample on loan?

I signed the (presumably) same NDA and if I were honoring it, I'm pretty sure I'd feel uncomfortable about taking pictures of my sample (which isn't here yet) and publishing them. I mean really, I shouldn't even be acknowledging that I have a prototype (which I don't yet) because just releasing that there is a prototype constitutes dissemination of information I signed I wouldn't! Granted, that's nit-picky since that's info everyone presumes and/or knows to be the case anyway.

Of course I suppose following the letter of the law of the NDA is a bit pointless since its obvious from the contents of the NDA that its really non-applicable and non-enforceable outside of the US State of China (anyone that's actually read through that particular NDA will know what I'm talking about).

Ie. I'm really just teasing. I don't care what info you post or don't.

And unlike the old JR lithium cells, I assume it can be easily replaced, requiring only that the clock be reset.

And hopefully to timestamp data collected from telemetry

Renatoa you are rapidly converting me to Frsky with those pics. I am a fan of good quality at a good price and this is starting to look the goods.
Please keep posting more as you are able.

Obviously, so the wife can set an alarm so you remember to come home from the flying field.

Or maybe for logging.

Hi renatoa,

The board looks nice. I have a few suggestions that might help improve the design of this new radio:

- add more test pads for all the switches and pots before they get into the MCU this way it will be easier to validate the board and to diagnose it after the sale.
- mark on the PCB the place for a programmer/debugger like JTAG pins or SWD. This will make the radio more attractive to open source solutions.
- add a SD card / micro SD socket for logging or other purposes.
- place on PCB traces and pads for unused I2C, SPI, UART ports. This will allow further extension of the station by hobbyists. (a Bluetooth module, a 4
33Mhz radio, etc ...)
- for the most used pots like the sticks and gliders maybe it's a good option to use the ADCs in deferential mode. This will allow end users to replace the pots and not loose the resolution in case they want to replace them with others available on the market.

Hi, tazbox

Many of your legitimate needs were already requested and addressed, but not as pads, this is not a SDK board. They are available all as pins in the lower connectors row.
The SD card reader/socket is on a separate board, to better accommodate the case layout.
The pots and ADC... this the hardest part to reply, will this radio pots ever need replacement ?
Conversely, I see a lot of requests of them as spare parts to replace in 9X/R

Renatoa,

I think I shall get a pack of cigarettes to smoke... And I don't smoke... But you are tantalizing me with features that well, get me excited (in a plane way)
