Hi,
I've just signed in here and thats my first post Sorry my enlish is not the best but i'll try my best
I've nearly read the hole thread now and I want to say something about the Frsky X12D:
I think it's the best radio for me because it has telemetry with voice output and cheap recievers! I think Cap Touch Keys (like those of the Graupner MX-20) would be the best UI for me... I know them from my iPod . What do you think about the Buttons and Switches on TX's?

I have MX-20 and I don't like those capacitive buttons. They are not 100 % reliable and they provide no feedback. I'd prefer usual buttons.

Capacitive touch are useless when wearing gloves - which is likely considering the typical user could be standing outside, in the cold twiddling the sticks.

Conductive thread sewn into the fingers fixes this. DIY mittens are beast mode.

I am curious as to why one would be touching the screen while flying, twiddling the sticks as you say.

He probably didn't mean while he was flying, but switching planes and settings in between flights etc.

Those capacitive things Graupner and now Futaba are using are the worst entry method ever IMO. HATE that stuff. Give me a nice good old rotary encoder with some "feel", that's perfect.

I hate JR roller because it's also a button and sometimes you press it accidentally I hope the one from X12D it's just a roller nothing else.
I have enough with a rotary encoder like on the 9C or 12FG.

Ouch on that JR roller. I have 2 9Cs and never had a problem with the disk. You must be very strong.

I have several 9C also, and love the disks on them. I'm OK with the JR wheels. Not a fan on the touch screen on the Aurora. Kind of annoying.

I hate wheels! I have a hard time making them turn WITHOUT pressing hard enough to activate the switch!! Older guys can relate to this I'm sure.

I have a 9C (disc) , had a dx6 (roller) and have now a dx7 and a 9x (buttons).
The best? The buttons, no way to fail or miss an option. And honestly if someone is spending that much time using the radio menus is better to go to a radio that allows editing settings in a computer. :-)
My personal opinion of course.

Now I have only a Turnigy 9XR and that's definitely NOT the best (especially the buttons) ... I thought the UI on my iPod nano is very intuitive but when it's cold you are right . To do the basic settings for every model on a PC would be a very good thing, I hope Frsky will allow us to do that.
