It looks like that price is TX only so I wonder what the rx prices are???/

These big price vendors seem to be getting away from modular radios so you get locked into their receivers. My next radio has to be modular so I can choose RF modules to match rx's of my choice or if a RF protocol updates again. And needs to be based on open source so I can update the firmware. And must have access to nice priced telemetry rx's. So Jeti is out for me!

No idea what the PXX receivers will cost but backward compatibility is supposed to be maintained. The current Frsky receivers are really good and reasonably priced. My understanding is that all the new TX's will have an internal module in addition to the module bay.

who here can possibly answer that? The ones that can certainly won't. Beyond that its simply speculation, not estimation.

I love how they charge a premium for hall effect sensors when they actually cost less than a high quality pot. If Blue Arrow can put them in servos that they sell for $23 then they could be put in a radio that sells for $200 and still be profitable. It's way cheaper to run off those little chips (that's what it is, a tiny chip with about 8 pins coming off it) by the millions than it is to manufacture quality pots.

You're right about the cost of Jeti receivers, but to be fair to Jeti they do provide PPM out which you could use to run a FrSky hack or DHT-U module for lower cost models. It requires some modification to achieve this, but people have done this already. Personally speaking though if I'd paid that much for something as beautifully made as the DS16 (yes I've seen one, and yes they are exquisitely built though the ergonomics are a little "marmite") I'm not sure I'd fancy drilling holes in it!

4 separate processors on just one of the boards - they must be having a lot of fun maintaining that many separate firmware images!! OK, the 2 RF boards are likely identical, but still...

I think if I had fifty million dollars in the bank I still wouldn't pay that much for a device that flies toy airplanes around.

I don't know. I like it and I'd buy one if I could afford it.

It's what warranties are for imo. It could have just been a imperfection in the metal - could happen to any manufacturer.

I'd be more interested to see what Jeti did about it.
