Thanks, I think I got it to work, though I filed a small arc into the clevis so it sort of reaches around the wiper. I got the aileron travel I expect to use and then some... Everything beyond 30-35 degrees is too much, right? If I need more than that I think I am doing something wrong... I know it depends on ones flying style but there has to be some limitations where deflection angles just creates too much drag to be useful, am I way off on that?

125 - you will likely feel like it gets really good there but you will find a lot of pilots reporting it gets even better at 128 - 131.

I am using the molded stab on a 3.5/8 x2 variant at 126 right now and its rock solid. If I use the larger stab (4.0 area size) im sure it would be fine al the way back to 131 + but ive not gone that far back because it would require adding tail weight - you will likely hear form the US team members on that CG range.

I fly mine at 119, it is a 3.5 X2, the weight is down to 59oz now. I find with a further aft CG and the plane being so light it gets way to wobbly and bobbly. I always have to push down to keep it tracking, especially if there is any breeze. I prefer to be nose heavy with this model.

59oz is 1672g.

I had to do a double take; that's amazing. A full 600g (21oz) lighter than my full-carbon X1.

I was debating whether to get the 3.8 X2 or the 3.5 X2.

I prefer an agile glider. Anyone flown both the X2 3.5 and X2 3.8 and can comment on their handling differences? Is it worth getting the extra span if the 3.5 is so light?

The factors in the air to me at least are negligable - they both turn really well and are agile enough to hand launch into light lift and get to spec alt.

If you only plan on buying one then go for span - You will not regret it

On CG, from posts here the X2-3.8 seems to fly well in the 120-130 range. I'm curious how the X2's CG settings compare to the X1-3.8ST? With a different wing planform I'd expect different CG settings for similar stability but was curious by how much.

Has anyone done dive tests to confirm what the X2-3.8 does at 130mm? Neutral stability?

Well I can say that red paint is heavier than white! My 3.8 red center panel is about 1.5 oz heavier than the white 3.5. Same part, and the 3.8 has lighter wire in the harness.

Total flying weight of my X2 3.8 is 64oz. I would guess if it was white it would be 61 or 62.

Hmmm..... I have been told that white paint is heavy???

Me and my friend just got orange and red 4 meter Xp2s. There was slight difference in center panel weight between the two planes, but otherwise weights are within 2g difference per part. Difficult to say if color has any effect on final weight. Perhaps they just use same amount of all paints. Other colors may cover the structure better than others.

If you are worried about weight, why not order naked carbon?

I'm not worried about weight with these. I think any Xplorer under 70oz is going to fly fine.

Just some observations, I would have rather had white, but none in stock at the time. You have a X2 4000? I guess they have released them finally!

I would never get naked carbon, for me it is not worth the hassle of keeping the plane cool and warping parts, etc... it may look good, but in the end a few grams of paint are not worth the trouble in my opinion.

I do want the new style fuse with paint and kevlar nose! That is what I would want in my next plane. I would like the bigger rudder, but I don't want the DLG stab's either, I want regular ones.

I think silver would be the best choice for lowest amount of paint to cover the structure. I was thinking of special ordering a silver plane.
