I drove 4 hours to intercept the Fedex shipment so I would not have to wait until monday ( when I would be out of town)
Dave,
What gear do you have in your 3.8? (guessing 809's in the wing?)

Where did you put your antennas? I stuck mine out of the sides of the canopy (looks like a V from head on)
Thanks!
Tom

809s on the ailerons - 761's on the flaps - im fairly certain I could have used 809's but wanted to be really safe. 761 on the elvator and rudder - im low on 809's or would have used one there too. The CG without any weight came out to 121-122 which is where I fly it at. I could have lowered this build to 54.8 with all 809's and one on the rudder- still an option I have one one more to build.

I have wiskerd about 6 carbon models with the SD-10G and they are all close to your location - I actually put a hole in the fuse for the antenna just in front of the canopy and to the left at 90 degrees. I HATE doing that but I also dont like removing the canopy and having to check if the RX weres have been impacted.

I flew like this for years without a single lockout using FHss3 RX's.

Range is good with them coming out the canopy.
I am wondering if anyone has tried it with one inside the canopy?

Can some of you guys who are flying the x2 tell me about your landing setups? Basically are you using any crow at all? I have always had a little bit of crow in my TD planes, but honestly don't really notice any difference with or without it.

What does the X2 like in the LZ?

Ok my X2 3.5 is done with cg at 118 no nose weight added

809's in wing
761 on elev
803 on rudder
5 cell einloop
atx switch

Center Panel- 21.05oz
L Tip- 8.5oz
R tip- 8.5oz
Tail- 1.55oz
Fuse- 20.30oz
Joiners- 1.4oz

Total- 61.3oz

I'm pretty dam happy with that, I could easily knock out another oz or more if the CG has to go back, I could remove the switch and change up my fuse side harness. Probably won't bother since this plane is supposed to be my all arounder, and if I can unload my Satori's I'll pick up a super duper light 3.5 for dead air.

Just have to finish programming and will get her in the air this week.

Will post in a day - Keith took a shot of it I need that shot from him. I am on off to Chicago for the week.

Maiden flight went well - the air was really "poopy" but the float factor of the 3.8 at 56 oz is pretty amazing.

You should try that ship at +121 before you settle.

I have my doubts... Maybe they even increase drag? But they sure look nice. Where did you buy them?

I was only joking, I think it just makes the wing look better. They started out as jellybean servo covers from soaringusa, and I cut them down.

i dont use any crow on the x series ever. flaps alone will take it from terminal to a stop in no time. in general, i have found crow only offers value for dramatic descents while limiting speed but in the lz its all about maximum control and crow comes at a penalty to roll rate and response so i avoid it.

sorry for the typos, rcgroups and android dont play well.
