Scratchbuilt 3D Foamie Yak 55 25"
Well, spending some money again! This time it's a 25" Yak 55-ish plane.
I have the body/foam cut out, but I don't have any electronics. I need to buy those. All I have is the foam cut out. Here are the electronics, etc. I plan to use.
I will put a "✔" if I have it.
Mini Yak 55 (scratchbuild)
Motor: Dualsky Xmotor 1812CA-42T Motor 25W
ESC: Turningy Plush 6A
Battery: ZIPPY Flightmax 180mAh 2S 15C
Servos: HK-282A Single-Screw, Ultra-Micro Servo 2g / 0.2kg / 0.08sec
Receiver: OrangeRx R415 Spektrum DSM2 Compatible 4Ch Micro 2.4Ghz
Transmitter: Dx6i ✔
Foam: 6mm EPP ✔
Hinges: NOT WELDERS GLUE HINGE! Micro Hinges 23x7x3mm (10pcs/set) ✔
Control horns: I am still deciding.
Heat Shrink Tubing: 2mm 1mtr Black
Props: GWS 7x3.5
I have the airframe and the carbon fiber reinforce for the elevator. Just need the things listed above that don't have a check next to it and a bit of other accessories and I'll be good to go! I have a few pictures of the foam cut out.

Looks good, I built a 22" Yak with 6mm 1.9# EPP last year and used similar electronics. The hinges you are using are really nice and loose which will help a lot with the small 2g servos. I used Goop hinges which are pretty loose as well, and UV resistant.

dynodude: Yes, it is 6mm EPP, I believe 1.5lb.
khen: Yeah the guy that built it for me said he could use Welders Hinges (glue) or those plastic ones. I chose plastic because he said (and I agree) they are, as you said, easier on the servos. I DID however put a little hot-glue hinge (just like Goop or Welders) at both ends of the ailerons and wings where the hinges didn't do anything (because the servo horn will push the aileron not move it!) So that gives it some strength there. But yes it is definitely easier on the servos (the elevator is the only hinge that isn't very loose, about as resistant as the Welders or Goop hinges)
There is this weird kind of tape that is basically paper with adhesive on it! Tears way easier than masking tape but stick to EPP VERY well. Unfortunately it is not wide enough for a plane bigger than an UMX Extra 300. I used it all anyway!
Oh, and BTW, nice 22 plane you got there! How's it fly?

Shrink the "Tiled" down to 85% which like I said will get about 25.7" (just above my plane)
There are 2 different sizes, a 30" and a 36".
JUST MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE 30" VERSION, NOT THE 36"!

I worked on the plane a little bit a while back. I used CA and a little hot glue. I also put some 1mm carbon rod and some 0.8 and 0.7mm. I used a small carbon strip for the wing. I have tail bracing to stiffen up the tail. I'll try to get a pic soon.

Well, as I said, I've got it built. I still need the electronics. I think I will use the Zippy Flightmax 180mAh 2s, and the Turningy Plush 6A ESC. The plush has much better reviews than the HK brand. Even though I am using some carbon fiber rods to stiffen up the tail, I am going to try to build A.L.A.P. (as light as possible) meaning NO hot glue, only CA glue. I have plenty of time to make the plane, no rush really. So I really won't be doing much with it until I get enough money, then order it. Then wait another month to get it. But anyway, at least I know I will be getting a quality, reliable, and efficient motor from Dualsky.
I am going to try to go for either a camouflage or standard flame and checkered scheme. Like these:
flames and checkered
So, I need the max throws for practicing 3D. On a plane like this to get the control throws as big as I need, I think I am going to get these TINY little control horns from hobby town, put the pushrod on the innermost hole on the control horn and cut the rest off, and limit throws with the "Travel Adjust" function on the Dx6i to limit the throws to where I need them. (cutting the other holes off saves a bit of weight. As I said, I am going to build A.L.A.P.)
