Such 2-d thinking, like Khan. There is no up in space... but the enemy's gate is down.

I told you wrong, the first appearance of the Negh'var class was in the TNG finale - Link.

The first couple seasons of DS9 were lame but if you skipped the later series you missed out on the best of Star Trek. It's the only series where you see big fleet battles, and it has the best Klingon ship scenes by far. It has the only big Klingon fleet scenes I'm aware of.

If you factor out DS9, maybe the D7 is the best known Klingon ship after the Bird of Prey, but in DS9 you see a lot of Klingon ships but not many D7's. The Bird of Prey and Vor'cha show up the most, but the Negh'var has a couple juicy roles. I would say it is the coolest Klingon ship after the Bird of Prey.

I do know, and I have been by your blog

Have you been to a Star Trek convention with your planes?

Never been to a ST Convention. Thought about it. But you pretty much need to be an RCer in order to get any enjoyment out of my kits. Non-Modelers seem to just cause me headaches.

"I thought this was going to be ready to fly" - for $50 bucks...
"Can you build it for me?" - no
"How do you glue foam together?"
"What is a Transmitter?"
"I have never flown anything in my life, have no real desire to learn how, can i fly this thing?"

Ugh... no thanks. I keep busy enough without the headaches. Love to get people into the hobby, but you have to have a real interest!

Hi Kiwi,

I am not sure if EPP would work well with this design. You would need to do some extra reinforcement for sure. EPP is not as stiff as depron style foam.

Hopefully the changes I made fix the stability problems i was having. We will see soon!!

Well, maybe these guys can do it with Klingon style.

So i had a big night. Got 2 important maiden flight completed successfully! The Enterprise-A and the Klingon D7!

As you can see from the pictures. I added a vertical tail and removed the extra drop down from the nacelles. That really helped with the rolling problem (kept going belly up)

I also added a small servo to the nose for a canard. It really helps with pitch authority.

And the final thing was to put in a smaller motor. The 200watt motor i had on there was just too much weight so I went with a 29g 1700kv Blue Wonder running on 3s.

What a difference. This thing is practically a trainer now!

Check the video! This will definitely be a kit by next year.

Klingon D7 Maiden #2 (3 min 37 sec)

I think the first one is the way to go. One of the problems with these designs is there is not much difference from top to bottom and that makes orientation a problem when you are flying it.

Having a big orange-red bird on the bottom would really help that! You will want more detail than that top has though. So maybe a combo of #1 bottom and #3 top.

Besides, you are not going to have a lot of time for this one since you have so many others to work on

I like your idea about combining 1 & 3. I already have the bird graphic done. I will still probably do 2 eventually.
Any updated plans I should go by?
