10S/dual A123's weird

I have 10s that I've had for about 3 yrs. works great.
I'm now running two A123's in a 100cc setup. with a failsafe receiver. I've made up my own charge harness with servo style connectors just to eliminate the hassle of dragging the node board into plane during charging.
OK strange part her. I can charge either battery with either harness going through the balance and( banana jacks) charge leads that come off the battery.(not the large discharge leads) one at a time. I can do this with or without the main discharge leads plugged into the receiver. But cannot do both battery's this way at the same time.
While trying to charge two batteries at the same time if I leave the main battery (large discharge leads) hooked up to the receiver, I get - "2 connection error" message. If I disconnect the main (large discharge)leads from the receiver, i get "plug not installed". If I go ahead and install the plug I can then charge both battery at the same time through the balance taps.
I just want to be able to charge both batteries at the same time.

Thanks

I have a 10s and had a similar problem when I went to use the discharge connectors along with the balance taps. The problem was a blown fuse between the two inner discharge (black and red) connectors. Use an ohm meter between the two inner connectors and make sure the fuse is still good. If you get an infinite resistance the fuse is blown. There is a thread on here about replacing the fuse. Very simple.

How it got blown is I accidentally hooked the leads up incorrectly the first time I went to use it. Didn't notice the little skull and crossbones on the case.

Hi,

If you can, take a continuity reading between the two center banana jacks, this is the positive of channel 1 to the negative of channel 2, it should read a closed circuit. If it reads open, the fuse is blown and must be replaced. If you are capable of soldering, I can send you the instructions for changing this out. You can email me at howard@fmadirect.com.

YES sir it's open. went ahead took the top off, just to see what it would take. looks simple enough to replace. I appreciate it. haven't seen a fuse like that before though. would you like for me to pm you for my address?

Thanks Todd

Don't know when I had the polarity wrong but I must have done it.

I see your e-mail now

Finally got around to installing a internal fuse. Stopped at the auto store and picked up a couple of fuse extension tabs, and replaced the OE fuse. didn't take long once i figured out how to go about it.
Just make sure it doesn't touch anything. not even the banana jack hold down nuts. with a little bending and grinding the aftermarket tabs fit perfect. just solder them in while the fuse is holding them in position.
