You're looking a lot more comfortable with it Bill! Have you flown CP helis ever, or just planes?

My frame, ESC's and props showed up a couple days ago, still waiting on the motors and RX from hobby king, and I also ordered the FC last night from hoverthings (Quadrino Zoom).

I've got a 2 axis gimbal mocked up in cardboard, have to transfer it to lite ply and get some flanged bearings and bolts to get it all together. It'll be connected to the FC so it will be stabilized in pitch and roll to get smoother onboard footage. If it works out, I'll try to draw up some plans and maybe even CAD drawings and upload to shapeways so others can use it easily too.

No CP experience for me W. Just planes and I seldom used rudder for fixed wing jets.
I did pick up a little Blade MQX a few months ago and had been playing with it some. I downloaded the Gaui 330 sim for the flight simulator and played with it a bit, too. (along with some of the CP helis that were already in it). The Naza is way easier to fly than any of the above though. Probably because I'm running autopilot on it all the time.
I think for FPV and canera work that auto will actually be the best bet anyways. (at least until I can get the GPS add on).

I thought about the Quadrino myself ($100 less than the Naza) but they were out of stock at the time. From what I read on it, the new ones have the auto level built in as well.

Yep, the newer Quadrino Zoom's have compass (heading hold), altitude hold and auto level all functioning very well. They have a GPS add-on coming soon too, compatible with the newest boards.

Still not back to boat vids which is the main topic here, but kind of related in the sense of more testing of the new camera.
Decided to try it in standard 4:3 aspect instead of the 16:9 for widescreen and it helped it a lot.

This is the second flight of my little Hobby King Vampire EDF. For a $120 "plug n fly" complete with electric retracts, it's hard to beat. The maiden, I greased the landing... the one caught on video, I bounced.

A new Record

Here's a genuine "marathon build". Jeremy brought his undrilled Promise Hobby 47" mono to me yesterday around noon.
He just left with it fully rigged. Running the same Lep 5692 I ran at the 2011 FE Nats. 8s for now, he may step up to a 2028 later on.

Fot the price I was impressed with it. Got two more flights on it yesterday morning and found that by going to low rate (50% throw) on the elevator it flew even smoother. I was able to make some clean low passes with it without the kangaroo effect. No video but I'm still happy with it.

Heads up guys. Jeremy hasn't quite joined the 70 mph club yet but he's already practicing the "secret handshake" Listen closely around the 1:40 mark for his comment.

Secret Handshake (3 min 22 sec)

He acquired a 2028 last night and I helped him pull the Lep back out and put it in today. Then, rode out to where he lives and shot some video of his 1st run with it this evening. (sheltered water but a little tight for a big boat).

While I was charging up a set of packs he was wanting me to set him up with 10s but I talked him out of that one. After the run he pretty much decided 6s would be enough to play with in there.

There was a Brit at our club field today flying a foamie Vampire. He said his wasn't from Hobbyking but rather from somebody in England. He couldn't remember the name. I believe it was larger than the one Bill is flying. It was a great performer.

The little Hobby King version has a 43" wingspan if that helps Jim. I'm planning to bring it to Wattfest next month.
