help me find an alternative for 18-11 10g motor

what are some good alternative for the 18-11 motor ( approximately 10 gram ) ? the motor wire broken way too easily ( i broke two already )

link to the 18-11 motor : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=5358

I have 5x3 and 6x3 props so if the new motor work with these prop, that would be awesome.

i'm on a budget something around $11 or below would be perfect.

Dunno about other motors, but I'm sure there are some out there. I'm pretty sure there's a red/blue Turnigy equivalent available from HK, but the wires might have the same problem as what you've got now.

If you want to try your hand at rewinding, broken wires are a relatively minor problem and the motor could end up performing even better than it used to. Heck, I've never rewound a motor that small before but I'd even be happy to give it a shot for you. Beats having to buy a new one, at least.

i'm thinking about buying the power up 180 from headsuprc, but that motor look like a 18-11 motor re-branded.

Check out the Motor Design and Construction area. All the information you could ever want or need is there. As for supplies, you'll really just need some wire to wind it with.

I think most of the small motors in this range will have the same issue anyway since they use the small, delicate winding wires as leads. You could try clipping the original wires off close to the base and then soldering on more flexible multi-stranded ones, but if you mess it up you end up needing to rewind it anyway.

Some of my HK 10g outrunners have the wires glued as they exit the motor and the one's that don't, I put a drop of epoxy on the wires to keep them from breaking.
I've got about 10 planes running the 10g motor.

Try here ... http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo=shop.dwt

They just about cover all sizes with spares as well ........ reckon their motors are relabeled by a certain well known hobby shop !!

i just ordered a power up 180 from headsuprc ( basically a rebranded 18-11 as far as i can tell )
i'm going to put hot glue on the motor so the wire can't flap around.
