why did I do that?

Another newbie here..
Got a problem....How long should I wait before complaining to the RCGroups crowd about someone?
I did a nice thing for someone, loaned them something, for their kid,and didn't get it back.
I shipped it,the first of April, free to their house. THe deal was,use it,and ship it back, them paying the return postage.
That hasn't happened.I thought ,what with Toledo and all, maybe I should wait another week?just in case they went or something.
The loss won't kill me..,I don't like the ripped-off feeling though.
I'm gonna e-mail him Tuesday about it...Before naming names.
Am I doing this correctly?

I'd email him a couple times, and PM him as well - then if there's still no response after a few days, put him on blast.

I'm bout to do the same thing...

Well...Not knowin exactly what you did...and what you and he said...I'd set back a while clam down..and rethink the situation...then send a PM to him..or call...be polite...then if things don't come about for you...comeback and give us the full story...Good Luck...Billy

Thanks guys....I don't want to stir the pot now,but I wanted to know the reasonable wait time, then I still want to give him a chance.
I know things happen, but talking ain't all that hard.I'd just like to know what the situation is.
There's no money involved other than shipping...it's a matter of integrity to me.
Loaned it out of kindness....want it back.

Never loan more than you're willing to give.

Lesson learned for both $'s and material.

Just respectfully send him a couple of PM's and email . If you see he has been logging in to RCG and still not responding to your email/PM, then you should be concern.

You helping is a good deed, but in this world, you gotta be careful. To some other people, "integrity" is goes a long mile.

Thanks,guys...I'll give it another couple of days ,in case he's been to Toledo or something, then we'll discuss it out loud.
I haven't seen him posting,so I'll wait a bit.

Going forward if doing this again for someone who is not a good friend, just have them send you a paypal gift payment "deposit" for the "rental". When the item is returned you refund their deposit. May sound a bit cold but .........

Well, I didn't think I needed any more experience...Wrong again.
"Experience " is what you get when you don't win.!
Two transactions that week...Funny ...stevster gave me $200 bucks for an item, and the deal went flawlessly on both ends.
You 'loan' someone else something, and the deal goes south.!
What'd you say about that "gift" thing? lol-hey look I still laughing!

Stevster is one of the best on here. If everyone was like him, threads like this would not be necessary!
