Helicopter choice for scale progression

Hi,

I'm currently flying a Blade MSRx and a Twister R/C Scale. I can fly the Twister fine.. can do circuits around the house and land on small spaces etc without much issues. The MSRx is a handful but I can hover fine and do some reasonable movements around the house with it but it being so twitchy and unstable.. i cant do nose in inside the house. I havent tried to fly it on a non-windy day in a park where I have more room to practice. I used to fly a Thunder Tiger 30 size heli a long long time ago.. used to be heavily in to planes and gliders at the time too... so Im no stranger to air time. Flown a real helicopter too... but i digress.

Where I'm actually leading to here is..

I want to get a heli that I can get back in to the hobby that can be upgraded later down the track with some reasonable scale canopies and a 4 bladed head. I'm not in to 3D... I like the scale looking stuff. I noticed the Trex 450 and 500's has a few scale shells for them.. my favs would be the EC135 but I like the military helis such as the Super Cobra, Apache and Blackhawk.

Vario are just too expensive to get in to their scale helis.. they are for when I retire

Whats a good heli to learn on but with the options of going scale(widest range of canopies that fit the 1 heli)?

Regards,

I found RC Aerodyne tonight... they seem to have alot of scale bodies for both the 450 and 500 T-rex.... now to decide on the 450 or 500 =|

If you have the budget for a 550 heli, then century has tons of scale setup options.

i would go with the 500 class. big enough for scale.. not bank breaking.

although the 600 class heli's are nice the price jumps on the multi- heads...

Thanks for the replies.

Looking around and from the recommendations... Im going the T-rex 500. Parts seem to be available and the new flybarless model might work better when going to a multibladed rotor since it has the e-stabilizer.
