Jun's spelling is correct. "Virga" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virga). We saw LOTS of it at the TS, and it became somewhat of an inside joke.

The crazy thing about these virgas is when they show up, hold on to everything because gust/wind fronts are on the way.

Jun, Virga expert. Lol

Virga

Here is some virga for you.

That is Boundary Peak on the White Mountains, California/Nevada border.

Thanks Jun, and congratulations again!
Here's a re-edit of one of my photos from day one that shows some virga (at least the kind I'm familiar with) and rain.

Gordon,

Sure, yes, you have permission to reproduce any of my photos from the 2012 F3K Team Selection Contest on the US F3K 2013 Worlds Team website for the purposes of promoting the team. Please credit them "photo by Shawn Curry" or something similar. Let me know if you want to do anything in print or on other sites and we can make similar arrangements. I'll allow use of all of the photos for non-profit, non-exclusive use I just want to know where they're going and I appreciate you asking. FYI, I don't have any sort of "Model Release" for these, so if someone is particular about their image being used, pick a different one.
