Re: glider checking. I've gotta think that if you're flying a "typical contest" ship such as a Stobel, Blaster, Concept, Polaris, etc that there's no real reason to go through the exercise of officially checking (assuming your throwing peg isn't installed out past the tip). That whole sanding down the nose of the Stobels at the WC seems pretty anal and silly to me (if it's true that is was just a few swipes of some sandpaper to make it ok). But I could be wrong...
Donnie, I'm pretty sure if Ryan has you in his list of qualified pilots (and I know you are) then you've paid your $20 program fee and shouldn't have to pay again. I'm only planning to send in $100. Will the $100 also cover the contest on Friday? If not, what are thinking the entry fees for that will be? |

And we don't yet have the site ready to accept registrations for the pre-contest. I hope to have that going in the next week or so. Registration for the pre-contest will be handled by RMSA directly - the AMA will not be involved in any aspect of that contest, other than sanctioning it.

Got my TS package today. Dave Runyon and AMA, very nicely done. $100 goes to AMA tomorrow. Only real question is with only 15 of 40 or so showing committed, who to partner with? I left it blank on my form. I am assuming this can be decided later.

Camping On-site?
TS Dudes,
I flipped through this thread and also the website, but I don't see any information on on-site camping. I'm curious if we'll be able to park the "Seattle Cool-Guys Camper" at the contest site for the weekend, preferably starting on Thursday. Thanks, RED |

Camping onsite
Adam, to answer your question directly, YES you can camp at the field, and YES you can arrive on Thursday.
The flying site is a commercial sod farm, so we won't know which part of the field we'll be using until immediately before we set up. My RV will be there early, so you can look for that as a landmark, and park accordingly. There will not be potable water or dumping available on the farm for RV. I will scout out the closest places to service RV's and let you know. |
