receiver input voltage

guys I've purchased an esc that take 12v but my receiver is 7.2 volts !

Can I connect the command line from the esc to the receiver normally or it will cause damage ?

please help (Question : the esc will absorb 12v the voltage will decrease on the input of the receiver command yes or no ?)

Without knowing the make of the esc it's hard to say for sure. However the bec in most esc's sends 5 to 6 volts to the rx. If in doubt, check it with a volt meter.

If you look close at the photo, the bec puts out 5.5 volts and 3 amps.

Chances are your rx is capable of handling "up to" 7.2 v. It will still work at 5.5. Same for the servo. You do realise that is not a marine esc don't you? There is no cooling on it.

you can't push a very big boat with a 40A ESC and no cooling.

I'm far from professional but thanks anyways.
Back to the esc... it should live as long as you don't over amp it and since you are planning to run 12v guessing it won't be a large boat. Unless you are planning ti use an aircraft type "stick" radio you may need to invest in a pistix to make it work with a pistol type transmitter. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...pistix&cat=136
Adding a water cooling plate wouldn't hurt either. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...-80678&cat=136
