^^ That's only $320 for the PNP, not the RTR. The RTR is $360: http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...l-rtr-PRB4075S

If you can stretch your budget, I'd get this:

or this:

You just need a servo and hopefully have a radio system for these:

The difference in quality and performance from $250-$350 is rather large, best bet is to spend the extra $100 and get something different. Jmho. You could get a HK boat, but time your done upgrading all the cheap stuff your past your budget. If you want the best for your money, save a little and snag a RTR from AQ or PB.

Aquacraft and proboat make quality rtr boats for the money. I like proboat impulse 31, miss geico, and stilletto. Aquacrafts motley crew, and one of my fav's the UL1. They all have there pros and cons, it all depends on your specific tastes and budget.Take diesel's advice and just be patient and save the extra money, it will be worth it in the end. Just my .02, happy boating!

Yep, i agree that the extra $100-150 spent is well worth it to get higher quality components, larger motors and more speed.......................along with the warranty backing of large companies like proboat and Aquacraft. Remeber to figure things like Lipo's/chargers into your budget............

Just for sport running I would pick the Impulse 31, plenty of prop options for more speed, and a hull that can handle it.

I'm a bit biased to Mono's, but I agree, it'll run in chop or on glass..........and it looks good

Just thought I would let you know if you buy the UL 1 or any other boat from towerhobbies.com You can use there easy pay plan when you checkout and it will split the cost of the boat into 3 payements when you use a debit card or credit card. Oh, stay away from the traxxas spartan! Hope I helped, happy boating

Check that the stinger is well connected to the flex shaft. My brother just got a ul-1 and it went about 10 feel and dropped the stinger and prop to the bottom of the lake. The shaft was still connected to the motor. Fortunately Tower is sending free replacement shaft and prop.

Just a tiny correction, that's not the stinger, that's the stub shaft or prop shaft. A stinger holds the prop shaft in place like a strut:
