I recently got my son a Mini Mono brushless and he loves it, but its small, so I had modded this Syma "toy" boat a while back with a brushed motor. I had a 3650 1500kv available and threw it in with a 3000 mah 4s lipo spinning an x438 and it'll be perfect for him..............

This is a test run I did today filming myself with camera in left hand as well as throttling......did alot better at filming solo!

He hasnt seen it run with the new motor but he'll love it.

Thanks Gents, ya know there something to be said about running a "Frankenstein" boat that not alot is invested in, leaving it at the lake to show off a big bass is one LOL, but you can just relax and gun if without white knuckles and not be concerned...... Its very relaxing. For those who havent had the "high" of running your own boat by you, all 23 lbs and at 70 mph, its work, the knees and hands shake, and your booty kinda puckers until you bring her in safely, Bill can verify this for ya!

23 lbs? I thought your 47 was only around 17-19 lbs? I had the 23 lb "oil tanker" with Goldfinger (the highest speed it ever reached was 63 and change). My 47" mono is still the fastest boat I have and I usually detune it to 9s for most of it's running.

The Hydro is 23lbs.......................and the 47" goes 70, kind of a mixture there, but you get the idea.

So do you agree on the white knucklin' part?????

Not so much as it used to be on the white knuckles and "secret handshake". It can still give a little bit of an adrenalin rush at times though.

Flipped my Racemaster yesterday and had to flag a guy down in a boat to bring it back in......................knocked a bunch of stuff loose and cracked the paint off the canopy a bit

Ouch. That hurts especially on a new boat. Kinda hurt my feeling when my 47 did that barrel roll here while back and knocked a chunk of gelcoat off the hatch on it too.
