Sony Nex5n video upload to Youtube assistance needed please

I just got my new Sony Nex5n to do some Aerial Photography when i feel comfortable lifting it on my hexacopter.

I tried to upload the video to my computer but it wouldn't play.
I could only upload it with the included Sony PMB software.
It has a upload feature to Youtube and the only option is to upload with 640x480 quality.

I did a quick test video and it doesn't have very good quality at all when viewing on Youtube. But it's awesome quality when watching video from the camera or viewing from the Sony PMB software.

How are all of you getting these awesome quality aerial videos I watch on Youtube?

Thanks,

go into the folder structure of the SD card. go into private and the AVCHD then stream or something like that.

then copy the AVCHD files on to your computer. Open them in an editor like Sony Vegas or something similar and output as .MP4

that is my workflow!

I'm totally a beginner and don't fully understand or have those editing programs.
I'll figure it out, thanks for the advice.

Not an nex-5n owner, but this might help you out. You have iMovie on your Mac, right?

Do you use a Mac or a PC?

I use iSkysoft Video Converter on my Mac to convert the .MTS videos (from the folder adidas mentioned above) into a more useable format (MP4) which I can then use in my main video editor, Final Cut Express. You could also drop it into iMovie.

Cheers,

David
