Wow that looks nice . I think this is more likely to be the next "it" radio than the 9xr with its worse than 9x build quality.

It will all depend on the price which nobody know yet. If the Frsky X9DA is $100 then it will destroy the 9XR. If it's more like $180, then Hobbyking has nothing to worry about.

My guess would be $200 - $250, but it will actually be a complete radio with a module ,battery and USB port.

The cheapest complete 9XR is around $110 if you get the special battery, usb asp and frsky module.

I follow the main thread, not the ones for the new transmitters.
I don't recall seeing anything specific about the price from Chase or Rotozuk.
Anyone else would just be speculating.


If the sticks and switches are of good quality then I would not hesitate to pay $250 for a complete radio, including battery and charger.

even if it's $180 it will ALWAYS be better radio and YES they have to be worried unless they come out a 12XR

9XR has ball bearings,my X9303 doesn't.

Pretty sure I know which one has the better gimbals

If you compare them without shipping it's a big difference. $83 vs. $180. I should hope it would be a better radio if it costs more.

Anyway, the frsky radio has not been released yet and we can't really say anything until people have actually used it..

I am trying to set up a heli with the 9XR using orange DSM2 module. I cannot figure out the mixing for the collective. Does anyone know where I could find a thread on this?

Did you use the heli template?

The mixes for Collective are usually on ch11. In the heli setup page you tell it you are using that channel.

CH11 will look something like:

CH11 +100% THR Switch(ID0) No Trim Curve(C4)
+100% THR Switch(ID1) no trim Curve(C5)
+100% THR Switch(ID2) no trim Curve(C6)

C4 is the normal pitch curve, C5 idle up 1 and C6 idle up 2. Only one line in the mix is active based on the position of the 3 position switch.

Ch11 in this case is a "virtual" channel. It is not sent out to the model but used as a place to do the mixes. The heli setup page tells the transmitter where to find it and the result is added into CYC1,CYC2 and CYC3 which are used to generate the three cyclic channels.

What heli is it? Things would be different if it is something like something like an MCPx.
