So about ER9x and Open9x. Is there any reason to pick one over the other? I currently use ER9x on two other transmitters, can I transfer all models from ER9x to Open9x?

I'm pretty happy with Er9x so far, but if Open9x works roughly the same but has more features I could give that a try.

I used Er9x before I switched to Open9x. Open 9x is better and has more features that you may or may not need. If you transfer over your models make sure and check everything because some labels changes in open9x.

For everyone getting frustrated with the ER9x firmware, just go and youtube and watch a couple video. I dont fly helis so I cant really help on that front, but once you get the jist of how the programming works you will see how easy it is.

I have a couple guys come to the field with stock 9x radios and going back to using the stock FW is a pain in the ass.

Also check out 9xforums for additional help

Is it true that ER9X allows 12 channels, but Open9x only allows 8 (with 1 transmitter)?.

Thank you for the clarification. I had heard that it supports 8 channels per controller and you had to pair up 2 radios to get the full 16. That must have been bad intel.

So you CAN'T get all the channels on 1 Rx?
I need 12 Channels on one DragonLink Rx.

If you own Rx with 12 channels then it will work. But with 8 channels Rx you can't.

No, there are certain module such as the OpenLRS (made by Orx and others) that can take 16+ in a single module.

Steady on, it's a bottom of the range 8 channel radio, and you're complaining that it doesn't do 12 channels one receiver?

I'm not complaining, I'm seeking knowledge and clarification from the informed members of this thread.

The 9XR supports 12 channels on one Rx using the ER9X software.
My question is whether Open9X does as well.
I am considering moving over to Open9X, but don't want to loose channel capacity.

I appreciate any constructive replies.

• Two auto-detected modulations: PXX (mode selection, bind, model match, range check, failsafe, etc. on radio side) or CPPM.
• Three selectable modes: D8 (existing 8ch two-way), D16 (new 16ch two-way full duplex transmission) or LR12 (new 12ch one-way, approx. three times range of current V8 & D series when pairing with new LR series receivers, such as L9R).
Smart Port enabled, realizing two-way full duplex transmission.
• Detect the module antenna’s working status and give sound warnings if the module antenna is broken or does not have intact contact, etc.
• Super lower latency (approx. 1/3 of current systems) and higher precision (transmitter’s hardware and software support required, such as FrSky transmitters).

A special section for FrSky transmitters will be accessible after the China Spring Festival.

X8R receiver (8/16ch telemetry receiver):
Attachment 5514877
• More number of channels: 1~8ch from conventional channel outputs, 1~16ch from SBUS port.
• With RSSI output: analog voltage output (0~3.3V).
Smart Port enabled, realizing two-way full duplex transmission.

L9R receiver (9/12 non-telemetry long range receiver):
Attachment 5514878
• More number of channels: 1~9ch from conventional channel outputs, 1~12ch from SBUS port.
• With RSSI output: analog voltage output (0~3.3V).
• Longer operating range: three times of the operating range for V8 or D series.

Attachment 5514944

New hub-less variometer sensor:
Attachment 5514879
• Capable of connecting directly to the telemetry receivers without the sensor hub.
• Backwardly compatible with existing sensor hub and sensors and forwardly compatible with new generation Smart Port enabled sensors.
Smart Port enabled, realizing two-way full duplex transmission.

SBUS & CPPM compatible servos:
Attachment 5514880
Auto-detect the firstly received signal after being powered on and act as conventional digital servo, SBUS compatible servo or CPPM compatible servos.

Attachment 5514892
