Nearest primary care doctor I could find, who would take medicare, is about 30 miles away across Austin traffic.

Our family Dr. quit taking any new Medicare patients because he can't make it on the money that Medicare is paying. Now add to that the fact that obammy wants to take a half a trillion dollars over the next 10 years away from Medicare and the problem will only get worse.

In real markets, costs are cut as production and competition increase at a profit. In zero sum ones, costs are cut by simply slashing budgets and going to static 'efficiency' measures, typically consisting of increasingly check box medicine.

Well actually she has lived long enough and should for go the surgery all together, and wait outside for pickup to be transfered to the nearest soilent green facilty.
That would make her green and crispy

I can see a possible problem between her and the doctor but it does illustrate the power that may be wielded by a govt controlled system. It will be dictated as opposed to suggested I imagine
