Looking for a basic OSD with altitude and maybe a compass, any inexpensive solutions

I just started to learn FPV with my hexacopter and I think it might be easier to hover and cruise around if I have an altimeter and maybe a compass to see on screen with my video glasses.

Is there any inexpensive plug and play way to install in between the TX and camera to to do this.

I have telemetry to my DX8 radio screen through my TM1000 module but to see my altitude on the glasses monitor would be nice.

Also would prefer readings in Imperial units.

just my opinion, but I hardly ever pay much attention to the compass, maybe once or twice per flight unless I am doing some distance challenge with a fixed directional antenna. Much nicer having a home arrow and line of sight distance - requires a GPS module. Can get all that and more for $55 with a Suppo OSD. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SUPPO-OSD-5hz...item3a72843919 Now I do not use that OSD, and mght be best to research it on here some more, but the price and features seem very impressive.

Looks GREAT for about $50-70 based on the last sales. And the feedback on the same item looks good.
I think I'll try it out unless I find a better solution in a day.
It has everything I need and more.

Thanks,

Can be found by online vendors also: eg $60 here ... http://www.bambucopter.com/suppo-eas...-with-5hz-gps/

It is also called 'Pigeon OSD.'

only thing I also suggest is .. when you get it, wrap the GPS wires around a ferrite choke. Esp on a quad with a lot of wiring nearby it can be hard for the GPS to get a clean signal. I have had trouble with the GPS on a couple OSD, solved with ferrite choke. http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/product.p...5&cat=0&page=1

Awesome,
thank you very much. I didn't win the auction anyways.
Do you think a hobby store would have the ferrite choke, seems shipping one would be more than the cost of one.
Thanks again.
Also, does the one you refer to read in MPH and feet too

I saw this one on Ebay at $100 but researching seems like it wasn't plug and play.
Remzibi's OSD

I'd really like to find one in Imperial units and not meters for altitude

I got the remzibi, it displays feet and mph as well as meters kph, outside of a tiny bit of soldering it is mostly plug and play.

since it is open source it is customizable also

Thanks, I saw that one for $100, is there a link anywhere to some screen shots.
I hoped for the $50-$75 range but if I can't find anything than maybe i'll get this one.

I think I'm going to get the Remzibi's OSD.
I see some different versions. I see some with the pins on the edges and some that have some pins on the top.
Is there any difference between them?
