Question
where to buy 9" & 10" props in the US?

different colors would be a plus, but not a must.
links would be helpful.
many thanks in advanced

Cory

Google is your friend.... get a brand and google it.

That being said I'll give you a lesser known one I got my GWS 9X5X3's from
http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V669449

Honestly it really comes down to the type you want... GWS, APC, Graupner, etc

MontoRC at http://montorc.com/propellers.aspx

I've been testing the GemFan carbon reinforced and they are stiffer than the APC, as expected, and pretty much the same shape (slow-flyer). But, they are black, whereas the APCs are gray.

Rather than using prop color for orientation, perhaps consider LEDs?

I have been flying the carbon re-enforced Gemfan props and they are great...barely needed any balancing too...

I also use LED's and i really like it...super fun at night

Montorc is good, I have purchased a few pairs from them. Hobbypartz.com is a good source of cheap 12 volt leds if you would like to add some to your copter. Hobbypartz also has a few props that would work for multirotors you may be interested in these 9x5 normal and reverse propellers. . Hobbypartz sister website x-heli just added a few rtf multirotors and multirotor frames, so I bet they will start selling cheap counter rotating pairs soon.

Blueskyrc has some 8x4 colored props, but those may not be big enough.
