Miss Universe allows transgender contestant back into competition

http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/03/world/...tml?hpt=hp_bn2

"New York (CNN) -- After initially disqualifying a transgender contestant, organizers of the Miss Universe beauty pageant have reversed course saying she can participate.

In a statement late Monday night, the Miss Universe Organization said Jenna Talackova can compete provided "she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions."

Is it only me, or is it funny his/her name is JennaTal acKova?

So they caved, oh well its up to them I guess.

Wonder if someday they will have to ponder wether or not to allow genitically enhanced humans in or not.

I will never forget a friend of mine relating a story about a 'transgendered' victum.

He was a paramedic you see. The victum had been in an car accident and severly injured, head, face, and lower body. He could not tell at first glance that it was not a 'woman' what with the injurys (face through windshield) and the other medics applying a breathing thing over the face.

My friend had the unenviable task of attending to the lower torso injuries. As the pants were cut away and the uhhh 'parts' were revealed he looked, blinked, and promptly lost his lunch.

"It was the most hidious thing I have ever seen" he related. He was not talking about the injuries.

Anyhow just one of my many many storys. I remember this kind of stuff.

Can homosexuals compete in this freak show, or is this thing considered a homosexual?

Ya know what? If they can legally go to the ladies room and look good enough to compete, I say let 'em.

I've always felt that "Beauty Pageants" of any kind were just freak shows.

This new development doesn't change a thing.

That's about right. I still think it's funny that Vanessa Williams, who got kicked out for some slightly risque pix, is one of the few winners whose name anyone remembers.
