I wonder how much money obammy gave them, and what was his kickback?

2.1 Billion of 'conditional loan' guarantees. Major holder of the company is German.

I guess they didn't meet the conditions.

Fox's article was pretty thin actually here is more detail from Reuters.

Why don't we hear assaults on the speculators spending public tax money and who hold zero personal legal or fiscal responsibility for their mistakes?

so, lets see, 4 billion in “subsidies” to oil companies, how many billions have gone down the rat hole over these ventures?

500 million solyndra
2.1 billion solar one
120 million ener1
5.3 million evergreen solar
43 million beacon one corp

looks like its going to exceed the 4 billion with nothing to show for it!

I suppose you'd find some of that if you'd look at obammy's campaign contributors.

It appears the Mr. Obama's "Keystone Projects" are more of a rat hole where he pisses our money away.

So the business model for this type of solar power won't sustain itself, and despite Obama's best efforts the American taxpayer avoided a $2.1 billion bullet because the guarantee wouldn't allow a switch to a business model that might work. Do I have that right?

At least the number of green jobs lost won't be seen in the monthly graph.

News accounts indicate that as of its bankruptcy filing, Solar Trust employed nine people.

The second reason why the Solar Trust bankruptcy story is remarkable is that its own German parent companies declined to continue funding the company, even as Steven Chu’s Department of Energy was willing to put American taxpayers on the hook to the tune of $2.1 billion:

More solar companies going bellyup as the government teat dries up.

Q-Cells, once the world's biggest maker of solar panels, is filing for bankruptcy.

The German firm says it has abandoned an attempt to refinance its debts and will file for insolvency on Tuesday.

Like other solar panel makers, Q-Cells has been hit by falling prices and last year the firm lost 846m euros ($1.1bn; £702m).

The company started in 2001 with 19 staff and now employs more than 2,000 workers.

Several other German makers of solar equipment have failed recently including Solon, Solar Millennium and Solarhybrid.

The industry has been hit by the government's decision this year to cut subsidies for solar power production.

Under the system, German power companies were obliged to buy solar power from producers at a fixed price.

The government is cutting that rate by up to 30%.

Obama DOE Says It’s Preparing For Another Round of “Green Energy” Loans…
http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/e2-...oan-guarantees
“Green Energy” is their socialist code word for Money Laundering Cover Up.This is how money gets kicked back into the election war chest. The losses are easily hid when they file bankruptcy. The same with the unaccountable billions that have been going to the unsustainable United Nations for over 65 years.

From what I read and heard, he isn't bringing in nearly as much money as he did in 2008. So, of course obammy has to make it up somehow, what better way than give it to the "green" companies, as long as the promise to give him a big kickback. I'd expect no less from someone that was raised in the "Chicago style" of politics. Wish there was something that could be done about it, but I guess he knows just about how far he and his gang can push this.

I’ve got a good idea, force these “green” companies to undergo the exact same environmental impact studies as the petroleum companies, remind me again how many years they “studied” the pipeline proposal?
And yes, this is pure, in your face, Chicago style political kickback. There is a reason the FBI raided Solyndra’s computers and files, and it had nothing to do with investigation and everything to do with covering the money trail.

There are no Oil Company SUBSIDIES. If you want to call them Subsidies then you you must call the tax break you get on your home mortgage as subsidy. Any tax break must also be a subsidy. It is a redefinition of terms because it allows the left to have a new strawman to blame for all our problems, insted of solving the problems. It is a redefinition that allows them to use the theme of raising taxes to get ourselves out of trouble, instead on reducing the spending of money we don't have. The President talks about raising taxes, but there is no way we can raise enough taxes to pay for what he wants to spend.

Oil Company Subsidies is another example of THE BIG LIE!!!
