HPI 5.9 will not idle

This is my first nitro truck. First day and I was able to get three tanks of 20% through her at idle with tires up. Took a little tweeking on the high idle and the throttle trim to get through em though.
Now when I am ready to for the first run on the ground the truck will not run at idle. It will run at a high idle, or at a low idle with the ignitor on, but as soon as I remove the ingitor, or lower the idle, she dies.
Is it possible the glow plug is fouled out after three tanks? They were at idle and running rich at factory settings.
Also, anyone know if I can run other glow plugs than the factory R5 plug?
Thanks,
Snakedog

Update

So I'm still on the bench.
I've replaced the plug with a McCoy MC-8.
Returned all settings to factory.
I pulled the intake boot and looked at the throttle action. Seems that at throttle closed, the gap is greater than the spec. 1mm, but not by much.
When I try to start at idle I get nothing.
Using throttle trim on controller I can get it to start at higher throttle setting. It runs for a while there, 10-15 sec, then dies.
Also, while running at higher idle, throttle action (feathering the gas) makes it die.
I feel like it's running rich. There is a lot of raw fuel dumping on the bench out the pipe. I've read that HPI comes really rich stock. So I've turned the high idle in to lean it out. No real improvement.
It almost seems the carb is starving for fuel after a few seconds.
At this point I've had one quart of fuel through it.
I would really like to get this girl off the bench and on the dirt. Any suggestions or links to helpful sites would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Snake

I guess you need to tune LSN. Make it little rich.

Air Leak?

OK, I might have it.
I pulled the pressure line from the exhaust and blew into it and there is no pressure building in the tank. I can hear air leaking.
I pulled the tank and submerged it in the sink while blowing on the same line, while plugging the other line, and all the air is escaping out the o-ring at the tank cap. I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling this should be a tight seal.
I'm going to call HPI in the morning and confirm with them.
Is there a universal o-ring set I should look into for my truck? Any suggestions?
Anyone out there able to add their two cents?

You definitely want it to be pressurizing the tank, not the air around it. I'm not familiar with that vehicle, so I can't comment on the o-ring but HPI or your local hobby store should be able to sort that out easily.

As for how it's running, if it dies when you remove the igniter it's usually one of two things. Bad plug, or running too rich at idle. Based on what you've said about needing more throttle input to get it to even fire up, it sounds like the LSN (not the HSN) is too rich.

I would put the HSN back where it was, and lean out the LSN a bit.

you are correct in that you dont want air escaping out of the fuel tank or you have no pressure...and as far as o rings i went to harbor freight and bought an oring kit a while back that has like every o ring possible and stuff to cut your own if you need to so you can save some money and get one
