HET 700-68-1500 KV motor shaft moved forwards.
1st run up with HET motor in fan ran for about 1 minute, then motor locked up.I pulled motor back out of fan, windings look fine and all but even with pliers I could not turn motor shaft.I ended up pushing shaft rearwards and it popped back, and then I was able to turn motor over but its still pretty tight.Is this common with the larger HET motors, and is there any way to stop this from happening?I know this motor is ruined but if I bought another one,I feel the same thing is going to happen and I rather not take a chance hurting the fan or jet next time it happens...

HET is an inrunner. No clips or collars. The bearing load is born by the motor's end caps.
Only way for the shaft to have moved forward would be for the front bearing to have failed.
Lucky, if you can get either of the end caps off the motor, you should be able to replace the front bearing with a higher quality one from Boca, etc, and, if the rotor's bearing surface is not damaged, run the motor again.
I've gotten pretty good at knocking inrunners apart if you want a hand with it. Rear cap with the wires usually comes apart the easiest with a little heat and some tapping on the motor shaft. Then you replace both bearings, as the tapping likely damaged the rear bearing.
