haha, amazing what can be found on youtube.

Steve, I've been watching your video "California Medley"

California Medley (13 min 39 sec)

I'm memorized, that flying is fantastic.

I'd like to see Sean and Bakkie fly the GoldFish like that!

Thanks man. Slope aerobatics is alive and well in ZA and I'm so stoked to see it. You have some really talented pilots and some great sites, I anticipate flawless victory

That's a music video by the band Goldfish, from South Africa, apparently a not-insignificant source of inspiration for the eponymously named subject of this thread.

Hopefully something newer and cooler than that! Le Fish is so last decade, bro

To keep the mechanics down, I was thinking of a stab the size of a 4mm cabon dowel/tube.
Basically to support the elevator.........a "stabator" pronounced stay-bay-tor. Well that was easy, but will it work?
With enough body to support cyno hinges/Dubro to allow for some serious throw.

What you think J?............the one that says I do nothing around here!
I thought I was the test pilot?

You want light weight, I give you light weight.

This is one half of a full size (1.5m) DLG wing. Weight is 51gm which is super light even by DLG standards. However, you may not like the price. The carbon fabric alone is about R800 per m2

Very nice Graham!

Vladimir's carbon looks good! I still like the checker pattern....

I've started laminating the plug up.
The surface area is huge, and will undoubtedly affect the weight!
Will post some pics later.
I need to go fly!!!

It's started raining....
Steve, what section thickness did you use on your Le Fish?
It looks kinda 9%
Can you safely go right down to 7% and what what influance would it have in your opinion?
I need to try keep the wing weight down, (No Swiss holes in bagged wings) A Spar would act as the load carrier....

Oh, WTH is "Herp derp"

You don't understand....
Those wings are thin!
They carry a 45g pod and boom.

Our surface area of the fuz will automatically contribute to more body mass.
And by the laws of deduction....
Stronger, heavier wings!

Anyway, it's early days!

I haven't experimented with thinned versions of the SB96V / VS; I really like the way it flies as-is. The thickness helps keep the wing strong, too. I'd be hesitant to thin this because I think you'd give up some aerobatic performance; there's still the matter of the tall draggy fuselage to contend with after all

To answer your second question:

I typed something from memory, then saw it was woefully inaccurate, so corrected the problem and noted its reason for correction
