That would be great!

Sooo....
It's sad, but she's been sacrificed to science!

Hacked and slashed!

I found two missing spacers!
It caused the seam to be pushed out top and bottom in places. I need to make the overlaps a bit bigger too

I think I'll skip the clear coat and just paint directly on the next one.
There are a couple of lessons learnt as regards the lay-up.
Things to ponder.......
Oh, the weights
Fuz 175g
Nose cone 35g
Total weight 210g (if you can't do the maths!)

OMG this is going to be one pretty plane.

I hope you put lots of carbon in that SKINNY boom area. It looks fragile.

Yeah.
That's the strongest part!
I slipped some carbon sock over the bladder in that area.
Hehehe
It's also the area where I have no seaming problems!

Great start for the first, Johann! Every one of your mouldings is a learning process for me!
Two questions:
-- Where are the spacers supposed to be, and what are they for?
-- Is the bladder for 1x use, or is it reusable for the next fuze?

Only if you get down dirty and build one Shadowman! You just can't do it from the couch!

I place a couple around the perimeter of the mould face and clamp the two halves together. You then inflate the bladder and allow the excess resin to evacuate. After 5-10min you remove the spacers and clamp up tight.

Yeah, 1x use only! I broke/tore it taking it out. I did apply some release agent so it did release easily!

Is anyone coming to Europe soon? anyone?? just need someone..????

You should do some online live construction work-storms...
That would top anything else ever done!!!!

The same build around the globe!
Something simple...please!!
There's a thought...

Im still lost in the other build thread...its on hold for the moment... that little plane..., and simple fuse DIY mold thing... remenber?

This one is really out of my league anyway, so ill just watch and wonder why I wont start it!

SO!

When does the next part starts on this motion picture?
The plot thickens!

Thanks Bakkie
I'm in Grahamstown on Monday so will tie up with Graham.....

The 2nd attempt may be no better than the 1st!

The bladder exploded!
Not to sure what will mutate from the mould,
but we'll see tomorrow afternoon!
Going flying first!
Yippy!

Every time I "tune in" to see the latest, I can't believe how much cooler this project gets. Sweet as..., and following closely!

Thanks Rob!
I've always wanted to cast a fuse with a joint line like the euro mouldies!
(So that I don't have to spray it afterwards!)

So after thinking it all went for a ball of chalk after the bladder bust,
It came out faultless!
The best is,
The joint line is hardly visible!!!

The weight's good too.
I kept the pump running, and it seemed to have evacuated most of the excess resin!
Now to clean it up!
