Stock PID, it's really that simple?
With most of my other multiwii setups I had to tinker with P quite a lot to get it to fly aggressive enough.

I'm waiting on mail from Canada, should show up any day now.
Got the operating table all prepped for building my two new beauty's.

Why two new beauty of the beast? one 400 and one 500?
All stock,no kiddding as everything was preset in config. For agressive 3D flight, increase P on roll & pitch then hand-hold test it, pitch it up quickly and hold stick , when time to make it level again is 2~3 seconds then you can do some bad ass tricks like warthox.

You mean warthox flies in ACC mode?? Cheater!
I just hope flipping a multiwii is as easy as flipping a kk.
I've heard some stories of multiwii freaking out when it gets turned upside down.

Ordered an Orange and Black 400mm from Luis last week although I have not hear back from him whether he has shipped it yet or not. The electronics are coming in next week, can't wait to get my build started.

Nope, acro mode with high P value, like this slowmotion video:
mwc quad - stick video [slowmotion] (3 min 1 sec)

I've got everything in-hand or ordered except ESCs. Apparently my order for a set of the HK F-20As never went though and now they are out of stock...

Stock PID settings with your custom motor mixing though right?
Not total stock 2.1.

In-Flight I would get some 30a from rcmanchild.com Don flashes them with the latest SimonK firmware and does a sweet job. I use them and they are almost exactly the same size as my RCX 20a ones. He's here in California and made a video about ESC's on YouTube with name as dhdsracer you might check it out fast shipping. Hope this helps

Thanks for the link. $18 is a little steep for me because I was planning on flashing them myself and have the hardware to do so.

If I get stuck waiting, I might give these a look.

Dialfonzo:

Not specifically Vtail related but, do you have a frame listing somewhere that shows all of what you offer, basic specs for each such as size, etc?

Two things I'm wanting to accomplish fairly soon. I'd like to gut the DJI 450 I have and move everything over to something along the lines of a spider quad style (never warmed up to the basic square "X" design), and I want to get into something back-yard sized. Maybe your mini-spider.

The DJI reboot I want to eventually end up as an FPV/video platform. I've been looking at the Hoverthings Flip, and have heard nothing but good things about it but dang if that thing isn't butt ugly.

Suggestions?

I used to worry about FPV multicopter looks too, but then I realized I cant even see it when I'm flying with my goggles on.
So now my philosophy is it can be ugly all it wants as long as it is behind the camera.
Hence why my current rig looks like its been up and down the ugly tree atleast a dozen times.

Brace yourselves:

3 different colors of fiberglass, bits of tape and wires all over.
Id like to think its long flight times are because the earth doesn't want it back.
Its due for full replacement though.
