nope they are not too fast
The 1450 are not too fast either.
You could run 7" props such as the motors that go on the 1450 motos, the 8's I run on them are for over kill! Gemfam has a 7" prop that works perfect on the 1450's

I like the 1450's, don't get me wrong. They are great on my quad. And for the style of flying that I do on it. But for the V-Tail, I think a lower Kv, and bigger prop make it more stable or something. But like I said, I haven't tested the 1100 kv's yet. Props are mounted though. Just don't have LEDs to solder on to night fly, or time during the daylight yet... Soon enough tho.

What props u plan on running on those motors? I almost think there to fast. At least for me.
Is that on a 500 or a 400?

The 400 was designed for 8", so probably them.

Sorry for sounding stupid but am new to multi's. Is the controller this guy is using available?

If not, what is an available control board that can do aerobatics like this?

Thanks,
Mike

Your not stupid..
Warthox use a MultiWii controller. There is many controller availible.
He use this board

But any board with the same sensors will act just like that and will be able to do the same.

To do Aerobatics he is in Gyro only mode no auto-level so any MultiWii controller with only a Gyro like This

It's 90% pilot skill. Most basic gyro only boards are capable of this if you have the skill.

Ah, thought it might be. I'll be using a 400 frame, hence the smaller, faster motors/props. The main difference between the two I'm looking at seems to be a little bit of weight and a larger difference in wattage capability.

A LOT of that is sheer pilot skill. Warthox is one of the gods of flight that we aspire to have the skill of.

Thanks for the information. I just ordered the Flip MWC board and a 400 frame from Luis and will build it up while I practice with my cheapie quad.

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, one of the problems with being a newbie (I am in this boat), is that Warthox makes it look effortless. Search for his stick videos, they are really great. But, you watch the video, then you want to do it. It's easy to get discouraged. For most of us, we're talking tremendous amounts of practice to get anywhere close to what he does!!!

BTW - regarding his controller: you may notice he only has one 3-wire jumper going from the radio to the FC. Super clean setup, I think it's called CPPM, but all the signals go through a single signal wire. In some cases, I think a similar trick is possible using a spectrum satellite.
