Navigatron - I2C GPS for MultiWi and Other Projects from Flytron
I'm glad to announce our new I2C GPS module for all opensource projects.
Navigatron is an open source I2C GPS module with onboard Arduino and Backup battery.
It is compatible with current(2.0) version of MultiWii and i guess it will be a standard for most of GPS application.
Just connect the Navigatron with your I2C lines and read the GPS values when you need it.

Nobody commented on this? Craziness. So, to spark conversation, how would one go about hooking this up to a MultiWii board, such as my Quadrino? I'd love to try GPS features.

It is very simple and useful device and resolving very big problem of all gps integration projects.

I bought your navigatron GPS ( order # 3263)
is this correct way to connect it to 3.3V side of I2C on CRIUS SE?
and if the 3v3 power regulators wont provide enough mA (+50 needed for your navigatron),
I'll hook it onto 5V BEC(install LED, as you suggest) that feeds whole FC, is this side of I2C then OK?
Do you maybe have any video of it on multicopter, gps hold & RTH ?
Sure will post mine if all works OK.

I dont have any experience with Crius boards but i saw MIC series voltage regulator on the board. My OpenLRS boards using same chip regulator for Atmel + sensors + Navigatron + RF module without any problem.
Please check the circuit diagram and find I2C sensor lines and 3.3v sensor supply for attaching your navigatron. I'm suggesting 3.3v mode of it for your setup.
I tested GPS functions on my 20cm MicroQuad (MQ-200) but wind speed was high and my quad didnt turn to home with current multiwii gains. This year, the wing was 10 times faster than previous years in istanbul. (Today was 120km!!!, 3 people killed by flying bricks or something) Maybe time to buying a windmill :/
I hope i will test it in one week.

I don't have circuit diagrams of CRIUS SE board but will double check before connecting,
by tracing lines from I2C sensors back to LLC via multimeter, to be sure where to hook up
the voltage regulators are LG33 and LG50,
it's more complex spec. table than I expected, don't understand all info there but i think it is capable of 500mA max, so should be ok.

So looking at and reading the quadrino manual it looks like.
3V-I2C PIN HEADER
Most I2C sensors now use a 3.3v I2C bus. The Quadrino uses mosfet level converters to provide bus translation between the ATmega328 (Arduino) and the sensors. You can expand the number of sensors by wiring more sensors through this header.

Thanks Killab! That is what I had figured, but was unsure.
So if I were to connect this GPS, I would then have to connect i2c sonar to the 5v i2c right?
SGsoar, it looks like the upper left is where your 3.3v i2c port is..

Navigatron on Quadrino
I received my Navigatron tonight and wired it up. Pretty much plug-and-play so far. Will test fly tomorrow if the wind here lets up !
