Slow wind Fuse CG?

Just have to ask since I've never had a "slow wind" glider before, would the CG be the same regardless of the extra fuselage length up front?

I've got mine at 75mm from the LE for now and awaiting time to maiden.

the "slow wind" fuselage doesn't really make sense to me as it seems to have a shorter tail moment than the normal fuselage.

A short tail moment isn't a noted characteristics of models design to fly in thermals or light slope conditions.

If the distance between the tail and wing is shorter the CG will be further forward as you have less stabilisation from the stabiliser.

Tom it's just about less nose weight needed.

in the picture the tail moment looks a lot shorter, which will completely change the longitudinal stability.
does it come with a much bigger tail?

I believe (hope) the concept of the Slow Wind Fuse is for less weight in the nose.
Nope, there were no included tail feathers with the fuse, so I used the stock stab and made a larger rudder.
I'll post my short build on this kit in another thread and link it here

Guys thanks for a great, entertaining and informative thread on the Speedo Pro. I just received mine yesterday and am incorporating a few of the ideas thrashed about here. I've been flying a Discus DLG on the slope and it has worked well and I am hoping the Speedo will make everyone around here take note.
A few comments about the kit; beautiful fuselage but I'm not too impressed with the cutouts in the fuselage rear. I feel the servo mount/hatch covers are too heavy and crudely made (inside only). Moulded plastic would have done. The rudder really seems like an afterthought and should have been faired into the fuselage profile better. The instructions are minimal (non existant) but a few things like the CG and canopy hold down could have been illustrated.
Things like the wing attachment (the spring sucks) but I'm going to use an elastic band. I really look forward to flying it as soon as weather permits up here in the north.

Any thoughts on mods(flaps perhaps) to this glider or changes to the tail group.

Yet another use for an exercise bike. Good to see them being put to good use.
On my Discus DLG I mixed channels 1&6 to use as flaperons and put them on the 3 position switch on the transmitter. Now I have about 10 degrees of flap each way of centre so that when I'm inverted I can still have a cambered airfoil. The reflex also helps get it down in a hurry in our tight landing area. It should work on the Speedo.
Another building note: I used automotive Goop to hold the stab in place. It always remains a bit flexible when dry and sticks like you know what to a blanket. It also dosen't seem to mind a bit of a gap where the parts come together so it makes it easy to set the stab level.
Has anyone else noticed the slight twist in the fuselage?

Although, after a first miserable Speedo III maiden I have found this glider to be pretty good. OK it's a little delicate and does have some flaws but what do you expect. It's CHEAP!!
I also enjoy carrying out the odd little tweak and mod here and there to these types of kits as they become more personnel. Here's a photo from yesterday the wind was 24mph and both planes were ripping. However, I snapped the wing joiner on the speedo whilst landing (not crashing)
