Hot Rod T-28
Hot Rod T-28D
After almost two years of flying and well over 250 flights, my T-28 was feeling a little tired. Maybe I was just getting used to flying the Extra 300 that has more speed on tap when I wanted it. Maybe the T-28 was just getting heaving with Gorilla Glue, Epoxy, and a little glass on the bottom of the nose. Whatever the case, I breathed a little new life into it over the past weekend and mounted up a new E-flight Power 10 motor, and a new 40A esc. So far it is mated up to a APC 10x10e prop (likely too much prop).
Its fun again, and there is a little excitement/danger in knowing that I could smoke the ESC, or rip the wings off of it. It only runs about 5-6 minutes now, but its a whole lot more fun!
Update March 28
Finally got the hot rod on a watt meter, and it was static drawing 48 amps at WOT! Good way to fry the ESC or the motor. I've since propped it down to a 10x7 APCe, and while not as fast, and not as good vertically, it still is a blast to fly. Here is a video:
