John,
Going to send it back registered mail, signature required. Upon receipt, if I do not have a refund that day I will file a complaint with the Postmaster General. I will have my local postmaster inspect it before I put it in a suitable box for shipping back to you. A suitable box cost more money to ship. I expect to be paid for that additional shipping, or once again I will file a complaint against you. You have the photos here on how it was received. I will not return it in the box you sent it in. I will fold it up and put it in the box with the plane.

Please, do not drop the dispute with PayPal untill you have all your funds returned and only as a refund.
Refuse funds if and attempt is made in the form of a payment for items.
Yet another sneaky trick some use. FWI

Don't do anything until Paypal tells you to return it.

Escalated to a PayPal Claim for full refund;

John Kim advertised this item as New in the package here;
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...ight=adrenalin
I purchased it from him using paypal, and asked that he package the item securely, and insure. This is what he sent me;
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=206
I attempted to work things out with him, but he has a reputation for not doing the right thing, and refused to be reasonable. He packaged the item in a home made box, barely wide enough for the item to slide into with only single layer bubble wrap to protect the item. This was not sufficient, and item was crushed in shipping. The post office told me they will not honor his insurance claim due to improper packing of the item. Mr. Kim requested that I send the item back to him, and he would refund me when he gets the insurance claim. Once again, The Post Office has already told me they would not honor his claim. If I send the item back, he has my money, and the item, and I may never get refunded.
I am requesting a full refund.
Thank you.

Sounds like something I would do.
You really dodged a bullet though.

Yeah, I'm really glad I messed that up. Could have been a $230 mistake.
Whew!

I've already posted in ssc about him and they will not ban him for doing what he's doing.

I have this theory that John Kim isn't really John Kim. We know that JK is an older man, in his 80's IIRC. I half suspect that he died, or was put in a home or something and a relative took over his accounts. He's been here forever and up until recently had a spotless record, but then suddenly every single transaction has involved some sort of fraud. Maybe the kid's selling off the old man's stuff?

Mr. Kim,
Your smashed, poorly packed kit is on its way back to you in a suitable box with adequate packing like you should have done. Just because you are Senior to some of us does not give you the right to misrepresent, and take advantage of good people here. I believe PayPal has some words for you now.
