could almost call them Springer Liite or a Springer "Mini Me"...... big difference is the power to size ratio so far. i think mini ha an advantage..

size matters..maybe

I have run from 180 to 550 brushed in all the sizes of springers and similar shaped hulls. At no point has anyone thought that some testing with some published results of the different size motors and running hardware was necessary, as in this build. Just some pre-Modonna's building with bits laying around the shop or hand made. What is the cost?..most peoples time, so far, and the lack of respect for the builders ability to properly bring a product to our market place ,with the proper support and details required to succeed.
What ever happened to the guy that designed the hull? Why did he delete all of his posts (or who ever did)?

Yep, I was really happy with the handling of the boat during the very small amount of time that Charlie let me hold the transmitter...

Charlie has a first generation rudder on his boat that doesn't have the large defined whale's tail that the rudders in the kits have, so I'm looking forward to seeing some sea trial reports when the other lads get their boats running...

Motor and battery info

The motor that I chose to run was a Speed 400, 7.2v, from ElectriFly. The 385, just did not have enough power. The amp draw at full throttle, with the Prop Shop prop, is just about 3amps. That should help all of you building one, to decide on your running gear, and batteries. No need for everyone to experiment. CB

This is the info on the motor that Charlie installed, they call it their "T-400"

He mated it with the Maxx Products ACC347 gearbox and the 3:1 ratio, it's a pushy little boat...

Heck...I'm throwing in an Astro Flight .035 Cobalt, hooked up to an old school Astro Flight belt drive. I think it'll have a 2.86:1 ratio. Even managed to squeeze in a 3/16" prop shaft, stuffed into an 11/32 tube, with a small amount of hull alterations. Spinning a four blade screw with just enough room to clear the space provided.

At full throttle, with out a barge, I had water flowing over the bow, similar to that, just not as bad. But the boat stayed dry inside. CB
