Aero-gloss fuel proofer on top of shaker can.
Working on a little project and I have had a problem with plain 'ol clear coat being ruined with gasoline. I came across Aero-gloss fuel proofer and I am hoping this could be my fix. I am using a normal shaker can on metal. I figure I could still clear coat it and allow that to dry. Once dry, could I use this fuel proofer? I'm not familiar with this product so I don't know what you can and cannot do. It's much cheaper than automotive clear coat.

I've never use the fuel proofer, but I'm guessing it is nothing more than clear dope. If it is dope, it will destroy most finishes. I'm not sure dope will even go over a lacquer finish with out issues.
Maybe somebody will be along with first hand knowlege.
