A little bit of vintage.

A bit of vintage "girlie" flying for you to watch ... if you have 5 minutes to spare.

RC model planes... girlie flying (5 min 16 sec)

Shereshaw Commodore, Glenelg and Alert.

Very nice video and a wonderful flying site. Those of us in southern California would love to have all that green grass--and no rattlesnakes!

Nice day out guy's, beautiful models as well.
Is the 48fs not actually a 52fs?

Hi,
Nice video and very enjoyable to watch with itís steady camera work.

Thank goodness also you did not add some inane rock music which always drives people insane.

Hope you can post some more of the same.

Cheers

Great video - haven't flown off the Westwood since 1971! A great 'patch', but I was more into CL when I lived in Hull, and the CL patch was much closer to home, especially good for a kid on a single speed bike. My first ever RC 'flight' was off the Westwood - the outcome is not that open for public discussion, but the end result is easy to figure

May be able to drop by and visit you guys next year - planning on coming over to England for a few weeks and will be visiting my brother just outside Hull.

Regards

Dereck

algy.

I don't know whether you noticed, but there were two cameras ... one cheapo and one expensivo. Big, big difference in quality.

The Alert was filmed with the cheapo camera.

Anyway, I'm going to use my "alternative" Steadycam, next time I take a camera to the flying site. I'd really like to get some video of Dave's "Bigger Stuff", because it is just soooo elegant in the air. Oh, and Pete has a really nice Blackburn Monoplane, which was made for a film... and is very scale, save for the glow engine.

Problem is that I'd rather be flying than filming; and you just can't do both. Well, that's what I find, anyway.

Dereck,

Pop by, if you get the chance. If the wx is flyable, there is usually someone there. You can always PM, if you want your visit to coincide with some flying. These past 12 months, there has been a bit of a resurgence in CL activity on the Westwood. A group of oldies has been chucked off the British Aerospace site (Brough) and has migrated to the Westwood. They mostly fly CL and single-channel free-flight (sic).

Mount the camera into a hard hat. This way the model never leaves the camera lens.

At precisely 00:15 seconds into this great film I knew this scene had absolutely nothing in common with the experiences of my buddies and me trying to build and fly models wayyy back in the nitromethane-soaked 1960's. Why?

The engine sprang to life immediately! No conflagration, no swearing, no crying, no suicide ideation, no cuts, no bruises, only peace and happiness and airworthiness and all 'round non-misery! A happy childhood. Unthinkable.
