Im building a brushless boat 26" with the following set up Tacon 3674 1300kv and seaking 120a. Please let me know if you need more info about the ESC and Motor. If you have any tips please let me know! thank you! Please help choose a Battery that can go fast can last more than 15 min.

Hi Frank,

For a 26" boat that motor is more than enough...
I run a 31,5"Arowana with a similar motor, the Turnigy 3674-B-1900KV on 4S 5000mAh and with a 42K prop the boat runs over 65 km/h (a tad over 40 mph) for about 7 minutes.

With 1300KV your motor is a 'typical' 6S motor, which gives you about 26.000 rpm under load.

As the 6S set-up is less amphungry than my 4S set-up, you'll have a minute or two more runtime, so if you want to double that, you'l need to use two 6S lipo batteries, wired in parallel, to get more capacity (= more runtime).

Downside is the extra weight the boat will have to carry, slowing it down (a bit) and drawing more Amps, so doubling the runtime of a single lipo will be an illusion.

What boat are you putting this motor combo in if I may ask?
Pictures of the build would be nice...

Regards, Jan.

It must first be determined whether or not the hull is capable of 40+ mph, so as Jan requested we need to know the hull. I too would recommend 6s with that motor and an x438-x440..........if the hull is worthy.

Hello guys! thanks for the quick replay, for now I'm using a Pro Boat Blackjack 26" nitro but i will upgrade it to a 31" (future project). So using 2 LiPo 6S Parallel what C-Rate should I use? I haven't put anything together yet (as soon as i do it i will put some pics) so it just the hull the BJ 26 (the red version)

Hi Frank,

That's a rather hot set-up for the relatively narrow cat, but, 40 mph can be done without changing the motor, read the link supplied with this film:
Black Jack 26 Brushless with mods (1 min 48 sec)

Knowing it's a catamaran I would expect a higher revving set-up to keep the propsize down.
Typically cats rev at 30.000 rpm+...

Capacity wise as high as you can carry, with 30-40C or higher.

Regards, Jan.
