just fitted one of these
am i right in asuming the face with the silver paper in the picture should be pointing to the plane,give or take about 30-40 degrees?
only mine gets same real good reception infront,behind,above and even side on to the RX antenna...not complaining just curious..

i don't know which side is front on that, but the big sticker would be my guess.
patches have side lobes that add gain off center. generally speaking, you can expect omni performance out to about 90 degrees or so.
But with a directional patch like that, the best benefit is to point it right at the plane.
