A friend who is the boss of a small company lends me his lathe on Saturday afternoons. So I go slowly...

To day is saturday.. I' ve finished all the lathe work of the motor part .. Probably in the following week, I ' ll finish all ..
Now I'll set the following pics and infos in my blog .. |

Wow, I don't usually stop here but I have the same thing on a Satio 5cyl that I bought from a guy in AZ. I got the motor to run on gas and oil and YES you have to have a computer radio to change the needle settings with the throttle. This is a big pain to get right.
The older fellow that made this stuff for us lives in a little town outside Salt Lake City. When I was having trouble with my spark I did.... after many trys get the guys wife on the phone and she called him into the house and he didn't sound like he liked to be bothered and was pretty annoyed that I was calling him. I was running mine on 4.8 V and he told me I should be running the spark on 6V's. I did run the motor a few times on the 6 V's and then it just died. I think from over voltage. It ran on gas but was a real pain. I have switch it to glow fuel and glow plugs and have it in a biplane where it is today. I no longer have the guys telephone number and if I did I don't think it would do you any good. What you have..... count as just extra nose weight. Jim |

Personally, if you plan to run this motor on gas you had better figure out a way to put a gas carburetor on it first.
It took me a couple of months to track this guy down and I am suprised that nobody from the area seemed to chime in and say, "O'ya this guy lives right down the street or ya, he is in our airplane club"?? |
