one of the members on RC Tech actually know someone thats willing to sell their MT roller with a few parts short. i'm in process of dealing with the guy. Lets hope this goes through.

Worked out a deal with the guy and he shipped out the roller. It should be here by Friday.

Prior to finding this roller I grew impatient and actually ordered another RC truck. Its a Wind Hobby T-Pet 1001....It has a RC540 motor and it has a SP-03018 ESC. Most of its other parts seem universal.

On the motor I've researched and found good things...its capable of up to 35mph which is good for a brushed motor, right? But the ESC I'm hearing many bad things about it....people are having issues with the ESC (reset button missing, esc smoking after 10 mins of first time use, car running like battery outta juice even on a fully charged battery, etc etc).

My question is.... Can I use my Tekin Rebel ESC with this RC540 motor? Both are made for brushed setup so I don't see why not but I just need you pros to confirm! Also is the stock rs4-mt motor faster than the RC540? Because it turns out I will have an extra pair of tekin rebel ESC and the stock rs4-mt motor, which I believe is a 17turn.

Lastly, is the SP-03018 ESC capable of handling a 3s Lipo? Tekin rebel did just fine until it crashed, lol.

And the parts page doesnt list any other parts...now i'm scared...wel actually looks like most of the HSP universal parts fit!

IMO, you should get something with local parts support, not hoping "universal" parts will fit from an online vendor.

Looking at the motor in it, there's no way it'll do 35mph. The stock motor is a very mild 540, probably in the 27-35 turn range.

Well is the motor better than a 17 turn MT motor? Also I actually paid about a 100 for it and its new...i know its cheap but I didnt want to spend too much and still get something that's okay...maybe I should have posted here before i bought it but since it was only a 100 i didnt think too much.

So can i use my rebel esc with this motor? since i know that the rebel can handle 3s and i dont want to use the stock ESC it seems crappy.

only guessing but I think the 17t motor will probably be faster than your stock one in the new car. your tekin esc is the better one, if you go back to your 3s lipo make sure you get a working lvc.

I actually ordered 2 different LVCs and the both seem to be doing a good job.

I Will be using the 3s until I can get my hands on a nice brushless system. Just a little tight on cash right now. I was thinking maybe I should create a wanted thread and see what people got.

The motor is definitely not better than the 17t motor out of your first truck. It'll be reliable, but not fast at all.

if this is the right page then no, there is a 16T limit. It will overheat using 12T modified

Which motor is better if we're talking torque/speed ratio?

lower turns more speed,
higher turns more torque
