Sweet that it's back to $119. It's good value for that price.

Answers to some posts above:
No, you can't charge via usb port.
You can tell when the battery is charged by looking at the battery symbol on the LCD screen.

I think I was the last to order one of these and I wanted to see it again.
I don't see it on their website anymore.

The one from Bevrc shows a picture of the PV500 but lists it as a PV700
just curious.
Jasper7821, your pdf seems to list the Lawmate PV500, PV700 and PV800 recorders.
BEVRC PV700 is something completely different. Please delete the link from your post as it is misleading.

Thanks,
Martin

Hi guys,

I'm very interested in this recorder, but the above vids seem to have something wrong with the aspect ratio. I've downloaded them from YT in highest flv format but all three don't look natural to me; the width of all three seems too small. Worse, the file "BEVRC Video Recorder PV700 Sample Recording - 720x526 Resolution.flv" has format 600 x 480 instead the mentioned PAL format (the other two are correct).

Could this be caused by YouTube?

Can somebody confirm that the BEVRC PV700 recorder is indeed capable of PAL 720x576, and that the aspect ratio for all three formats is correct (e.g. by recording and displaying a circle)?

Thanks,
Martin

Probably they forgot to flash my device with bevrc logo
oh oh, you may have fpv-japan firmware on it. So now I'm not really convinced anymore.

Check my post a page or two back, I posted the video specs for all resolutions. 640x480 was the only one with correct aspect ratio.

How do you put the JapanFPV firmware on it?

Thanks rogueqd, I've read your post of course and noticed it. I was a bit misled by your below results. I thought it could be caused by the NTSC camera that you've used (different aspect ratio) but you also said that you got same results for a PAL camera. So I'm afraid that PAL 720x576 just isn't supported. Could this explain the lower price compared to a genuine FPV japan recorder? Before I make up my choice I better check whether FPV-japan firmware solves the 720x576 issue.

Maybe it doesn't matter al all. My PAL camera has aspect ratio 4:3 and my monitor has square pixels, so 720x576 which has ratio 5:4 won't be displayed correctly anyway. I think you have no choice really:
- if your camera has aspect ratio 3:2 then you should use 720x480
- for 4:3 camera's you should use 640x480
- for 5:4 camera's (do these exist?) you should use 720x576 (if supported)

So I think for most of today's FPV camera's the only correct choice would be 640x480. I think and I hope we all agree that we're talking about square pixels. So pixel aspect ratio doesn't count here.

Martin

I got my BEVRC Recorder in the mail today.
It only works occasionally, the cable that plugs into the recorder I think is bad.
Mostly it says no signal, but jiggling the plug I can sometimes get the picture to come in.
When I made a test video and played it on the computer with a VLC player it was yellowish and had a green stripe down the middle from top to bottom.
I uploaded a quick test video straight from the SD card and not that impressed.
The video looks fine viewing it on the recorder but when uploaded it does not have good quality at all. I have a nice FPV camera, it's a KX191.
