1:12 log tug build
Brought my thread over from another forum.Purchased a Bandera hull from a friend a couple months ago and decided on a new theme for the boat. The original hull is about 37" x 12" so I scaled it for a 1:12 model. Did some side view renderings to get a nice proportion between the Bandera hull and a new superstructure. As you can see, It has a lot of SeaImp and Mckenzie feel to it.
I decided to keep the original kits dual nozzle setup and 3" kort nozzle props. Nozzles are cast aluminum, shoes are solid bronze and the props are a brass alloy from Prop-Shop. This thing is going to be beefy. Got 2 of the infamous "Big Pittman" motors running a direct drive setup. Electronic plans are independent motor control, lights and a smoke system. Model will eventually get a custom winch and a sound unit when I find one that is worth the $$$$$.
